Bank of the Islands donates to Sanibel Bike Club

Bank of the Islands recently made its latest non-profit donation through its “We Love Our Islands” program. Longtime islanders and Bank of the Islands customers Lena and Steve Brown were the lucky winners. The Browns selected the Sanibel Bike Club to receive the Bank’s $1,400 donation.

This donation marks $156,000 given away to date through Bank of the Islands’ “We Love Our Islands” program. It also represents the tenth donation since the Bank doubled its weekly outlay for the program.

“We’re so pleased Steve and Lena chose to direct our latest donation to the Sanibel Bike Club,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, one of the true delights of Sanibel is its 25 miles of paths for biking and walking. The Sanibel Bike Club members are the key supporters of our island’s shared path system. This donation is such a great way to applaud the Club’s efforts and show how much we appreciate being your island bank.”

All islanders are invited to visit the Bank’s Sanibel or Captiva offices to pick up a vehicle decal and learn more about the “We Love Our Islands” program and how you and your favorite charity can become our next lucky winners.

As the oldest locally owned and managed community bank in Lee County, Bank of the Islands is proud to be the winner of more than 50 “Best of the Islands” awards. We’re especially honored to be voted Best Bank, Best Financial Services, and Best Mortgage Broker for 2025-2026. The Bank has retained a 5-Star Superior Rating from BauerFinancial for more than a decade. The Sanibel office of Bank of the Islands is located at 1699 Periwinkle Way, at the corner of Casa Ybel Road. The Captiva office is at 14812 Captiva Drive, next to the Captiva Post Office.
