Bank of the Islands Program gives to Noah’s Ark

Bank of the Islands recently made its latest non-profit donations through its “We Love Our Islands” program. Nancy Tucker Cleavelend was the lucky winner. After the bank spotted a “We Love Our Islands” decal on her vehicle, Nancy earned the right to select which local non-profit organization would receive a charitable contribution from Bank of the Islands. She chose to give her $900 in winnings to Noah’s Ark, the beloved thrift shop at St. Michael and All Angels Church on Sanibel. That donation marks $96,800 given away to date through Bank of the Islands’ We Love Our Islands program.

“We’re so pleased Nancy chose to give our donation to Noah’s Ark,” said Bank of the Islands Lead Teller Heather Harrison. “Besides being an island institution, Noah’s Ark is an important community resource, especially for residents searching for a treasure while sticking to a budget. The sales revenue is then used for grants to worthy causes throughout Southwest Florida and to other global charities. Making donations like this through our We Love Our Islands program is such a great way to show how much we appreciate being your island bank.”

All islanders are invited to visit the bank’s Sanibel or Captiva office to learn more about the “We Love Our Islands” program and how you and your favorite charity can become our next lucky winners.

Bank of the Islands, a name synonymous with island community banking since 1974, is located at 1699 Periwinkle Way, at the corner of Casa Ybel Road, on Sanibel. The Captiva office is at 14812 Captiva Drive, next to the Captiva Post Office. As the oldest locally owned and managed community bank on the islands, Bank of the Islands is proud to be the winner of 50 “Best of the Islands” awards since 1999, including being chosen the Best Island Bank for 23 years straight.
